  • GOD IS GOOD!!

Just wanted to update quickly to let all of you know that I got a full time teaching position.  I will be teaching 3rd grade in Smithton, IL a small town about 15 minutes from my house.  My BEST friend was just hired there a few weeks ago so I will be working in the same school as my best friend.  How incredible is that?  I am VERY overwhelmed as I only have 11 days to create a classroom and make plans, but I have never been more happy and excited in my life.  My first big girl job and it's in a fantastic district with amazing people!!!

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.  God is GOOD!!

  • Still nothing...

So as of now I will still be an aid...and it SUCKS!!  We definitely need more income...so continue praying I find an actual teaching position.

However, Kody and I are hoping to get new vehicles in the near future...new "used" vehicles.  I am VERY excited...so more prayers for that.

Life is starting to look up in some ways, but still down in others.

  • Possible Change in Plans

So guess what....I have two job interviews tomorrow...yes, not one but TWO.  One at Shiloh Middle School and one at Smithton.  The one at Shiloh is based on enrollment so its not officially a position YET, but the principal is a man I had as a teacher when I attended Shiloh.  There are two positions open at Smithton and my best friend Jess and I both have an interview.  Here is to hoping we both get a position. I am really, really hoping to get a full teaching position.  Kody and I could really use that money to get ourselves back on our feet and on solid ground.  My car is running worse and worse lately and I just have a feeling it's going to crap out soon and we definitely can't afford another car unless I have a full teaching position.  ::sigh::  Money is really stressing me out lately.  I try to not let it bother me, but I have decent credit and it needs to stay that way so that we can get another mortgage in a couple years.  GRRR!!!  Even with the extra money Kody will get for building the deck for our neighbor we are still going to be short for bills I think.  AHHHH!!!  It's a never ending cycle and it just sucks.

So, in other words....PLEASE pray for me to get one of these jobs.  The Aid position in O'Fallon is a good opportunity for the following year but if I can get a teaching position this year I will make like 2 1/2 times the amount I would as an aid and that would be FANTASTIC!!

    Here is to hoping.

  • JOB!!!

So, I officially have a job for the 2008-2009 school year.  It is not the job I "wanted" or even interviewed for, but I think it is where God wants me.  I interviewed for a 5th grade position at Moye Elementary in O'Fallon and the assistant principal called to tell me that however she offered the job to someone else that she had a very hard deciding between the two of us.  So she called me back not even an hour later and offered me a position as a Reading Interventionist Aid working with struggling children. I think it will be a very good experience and it will hopefully get me a job in the district next year.  I'm pretty excited.  It was my first interview and for it to go that well made me very happy.  At first I was nervous to take it because what if I get called to interview for another job somewhere else...but then I realized that is not  guarantee and this job is a guarantee and it will almost 100% guarantee me a position next year.  So...I am very satisfied to get this position!  YAY!

Friday is Jess' wedding and I am SOOOOOOO excited!!  It is going to be amazing.  I am so honored to be a part of her big day and very excited to get all dressed up and pretty.  Gettin' my hair did and puttin' on a pretty dress!!  Tomorrow night is the wedding rehearsal and dinner.  Thursday morning I will be helping set up for the reception and then Friday is the big day.  Woohoo!

  • LONG TIME

Wow, girls, sorry it has been so long.  I tell you I really do not tend to use this much but here is a quick update.

Next Saturday is a big day for two reasons.  First of all my amazing baby boy turns 6 months old.  How crazy is that?  He is so incredible and makes me so happy. No matter what kind of day I am having all I need is a Tyler smile and it is all better.  He has brought Kody and I closer too which is awesome.

I also graduate from SIUE next Saturday with my Bachelors in Elem. Education.  WOOHOO!!!  No more college...well for awhile until I go back for my Masters.  Now if only I could find a job.

Other than those two things I am just looking forward to a relaxing summer of only working 3 days a week and spending lots of time with my husband, son, family and friends.

How is everyone out there doing????
